I would still describe myself as a socialist and a radical, and have done for the whole of my adult life. I often find myself agreeing with Lib-Dems, Greens, Scottish and Welsh nationalists... but Tories? Never, I would have said. And especially someone like Davis, a rightwinger, a volunteer in the TA SAS, for goodness sake.
But, like you, I find myself largely in support of the stand he is taking over civil liberties. And if the rumour I saw somewhere is actually true - the one about former Sun Editor Kelvin McKenzie standing against him, bank-rolled by Rupert Murdoch - then there is no doubt about my support for him.Kate Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08788180717656252691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4587126871623824329.post-59503214625305289092008-06-12T22:53:00.000+01:002008-06-12T22:53:00.000+01:00Have you seen the political compass? They don't show David Davis, but one can roughly guess where he'd be.
cide-hamete
PS: Sorry to hear about your son's dreadful experience at St Pancras. Hope it doesn't discourage him from travel and adventures.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
